Getting My Blackberry 7290 to work with Asda Mobile SIM
APN: asdamobiles.co.uk
Username: web
Password: web
Go to settings> TCP
these setting are working on my 7290 today.
You will not have use of push email or BB Browser, so install opera mini over your desktop manager.
I now have gmail app, maps and twitterberry working too, but it was a right hassle

hi, adam, i got it working myself in the end,sorry to have troubled you. in case anyone else wants to know what it did; here it is; installed opera mini onto my pc. then, connect pc to blackberry, start installation, you will be asked two questions, to the first say no, and the second say yes. hope you dont mind me saying this on your site Adam, delete if you do. The Blackberry is the best gadget that i ever received as a gift from my best friend. It has nice features and the design looks very cool too.

Hi Adam. Anyadvice on getting an unlocked 9000 working on asda sim.
I have used the APN settings as suggested – I have installed opera min via wi-fi.
Tried viewing a webise and get Unable to connect. Review network settings – asda support are useless as they say ASDA sim does not support BB

Hello Adam, i hope you don’t mind me asking this, but you seem to know what you are talking about. i have posted my query on crackberry, 30 hits but no reply so far, anyway this is my problem; Just got an unlocked 8310. previously O2, now asdamobile (using vodafone uk network).
i get full signal, gprs logo, sms and phone ok, but will not connect to internet.
message i get is; ”unable to open a PDP (or POP?)context, current browser configuration not compatible with current network”.
i checked that all settings are as per asdamobile told me.
Asdamobile say it may be because i need to delete configs already on phone. other than the APN i don’t know what these could be, neither do they.eek.
settings show default browser as ”vodafone live”.
data services ; on.
i tried installing operamini; can’t finish installation; ”unable to connect to internet”.
any suggestions appreciated. thanks Graham.::
